If anyone has local content that has lossless Atmos and dtsx, it's a no-brainer, they absolutely positively have to buy the Nvidia Shield pro or wait for the 2021 version. Best buy had it on sale for 180 bucks several months back. I tend to look at these things without trying to pinch pennies on this particular model since it rarely ever goes on sale. If they purchase the game on steam and the game is supported by nvidia, and it works. I cannot imagine them killing off the Nvidia Shield line because it allows the user to play GeForce Now games without owning a PC. ![]() So that's my public service announcement on buying used.īut since Nvidia has a turnaround time of 2 years for every new release, I'm sure there's going to be another release later on in the year. Unless he just didn't know any better and broke it himself unbeknownst to himself. He's complaining that it's got a stuck focus or zoom control and he can't budge it. Well, if you look at his post history he's been posting in the marantz projector thread. #Serviio fire stick tv#One thing to look out for with streaming devices, do you want ones that output at 24hz or 60hz? Apple TV outputs at 60hz for instance.Ĭlick to expand. The thing about buying used, no warranty. #Serviio fire stick upgrade#Since you said you are about to upgrade every aspect of your entire A/V system, it could really make a huge difference for you. Multiply situations like this across your entire setup, and you can end up with a setup you never thought possible on a given budget if you buy used as much as possible. I recommend people always check what is available used before buying something new, because you never knew when a "like new" product, from a seller with a good history, will be available for half of what you would pay new, and after using the new one for a day, it is now the exact same product and the exact same performance, but for half the cost. You've already gotten some great advice which ones to get, but just a head's up, products like the Shield Pro are pretty popular, so you can find a lot of this stuff used, in great condition, maybe 65% what it costs new in the Shield Pro's case, and sometimes much less for other quality A/V products, especially if the item is older. I use the Shield + Refresh Rate when watching anything on Netflix or Hulu. So, I have Roku Ultra 2020, ATV4K 2019, and Shield Tube, as a CYA "solution". #Serviio fire stick android#In particular many of the streaming services (including Virtual Cinema outlets) only support Roku and ATV with apps (with no Android version), which makes Shield not even an option for them. ![]() Or, it could simply be a reason to buy multiple streamers since not one of them is absolutely perfect or completely satisfying for audio and video from all apps and streaming services. I prefer to watch it at 25.000 on my LG C9, hence again why I use the Shield (and Refresh Rate add-on, set to "display-only" mode so that I can manually set the refresh rate as required by content) where I can then manually set the output to 25.000. Similarly, European 25.000 content is doubled via Netflix on Roku to 50fps. You will not be able to see Netflix or Hulu content at 24.000 or 23.976, but instead will see it at 59.94 (or similar) which really makes me crazy. So depending on what you stream, and how much you want to watch a "film" so that it looks like a "film" (as I do), this could be a real deal breaker. Both of these apps are "framerate locked to 60fps" on the Roku. There is a MAJOR disadvantage of Roku Ultra 2020, and that its "framerate match" feature is DISABLED for both Netflix and Hulu. ![]()
